Terms and Conditions


Allergies and Special Dietary Requirements
Our products contain dairy, wheat, nuts, soy, and other allergens. You agree to notify your guests of this risk and hold us harmless for allergic reactions. 
Nuts, Dairy or Eggs:  If you have a food allergy, please contact me personally to discuss your requirements.

Lead Times
Due to limited slots available, at least a SEVEN days' notice (secured with 50% deposit) for birthday and other celebrations.

At least a ONE month notice (secured with 50% deposit) is required for ordering wedding and civil ceremony cake. 
However, short notice is acceptable subjects to baking slot availability.
Additional charges will be applied for short notice order placement.

* For orders with less than 1 week notice, the full payment is required on confirmation and is non-refundable.

*  20% rush charge applicable to order confirmed with less than 1 week lead time.

* All final balance payment must be paid by the due date indicated or contract is null and void, and deposit will not be refunded.

Order Confirmation and Payment Terms
50% deposit on placement of order is required for all cakes, which is deductible from the final balance payable. 

Deposits are not refundable.

  • Wedding & Civil ceremony Cakes:

Minimum 1 month to confirm in advance

Final payment 2 weeks before delivery/collection date

  • Other Celebration Cakes:

Minimum 7 days to confirm in advance           

Final payment 7 days before delivery/collection date

Payment can be made via cash, or through iBanking electronic transaction which is highly recommended.  Should payment to be made via cheque, cake is only released upon cheque clearance.

Kindly notify us with your bank transfer references upon transaction for verification.

Quality and Storage of your cake(s)
Your cake(s) will be baked as close to your delivery/collection day as possible to ensure quality and freshness.  We recommend that cakes should be eaten as close to the delivery/collection date as possible.
Cakes covered with sugarpaste or fondant should be stored in a cool dry place, preferably in the box in which they are supplied.  They should not be refrigerated unless with specific instruction by Baking Indulgence. Refrigeration may cause the change of colors.

Cake Design and Alterations
Any cake ordered from a picture or photo of a cake produced by other cake maker, can only be reproduced by Baking Indulgence as our interpretation of that cake and will not be an exact reproduction of the cake in the picture or photo. 
Design alterations can be made with no later than 2 weeks before collection/delivery.  If the alteration affects the cost then the balance will be adjusted accordingly.
Alteration fees to apply for last minute changes of cake design. However, changes may not be accommodated.

Cakes Decorated with Fresh Flowers
Should your cake design requires fresh flowers, kindly liaise directly with your florist regarding the supply and specific floral requirements. Baking Indulgence will decorate the cake with the flowers on site. On-site charges to be applied.
Please note some flowers are not suitable for use as a cake decoration.  Ask your florist for details regarding toxicity. Baking Indulgence is not liable for any contamination to our food product that may arise from their misuse.

Cakes Decorated with Non-edible Materials
Please note that cakes decorated with the use of non-edible materials such as pillars, skewers, 'craft jewels' and accessories (i.e. brooches, ribbons, silk flowers, diamante, beads, feathers etc) are not edible and must be removed from your cake before serving.  All of our decorative gems and accessories are only used at the clients request and Baking Indulgence accepts no responsibility for any physical harm that may arise from their use.

Please note customized cakes may not be completed until the day prior to/or the day of the celebration to ensure the cakes are as fresh as possible.

Refund given for disputes regarding a cake design or production of a design are completely at the discretion of Baking Indulgence and are not automatic.  Full refunds will never be given for any cake which has been consumed regardless of dispute, as consumption of the cake is viewed as your acceptance that the cake is adequate for the purpose for which it has been supplied.  
In order to resolve any complaints quickly and to our mutual satisfaction, we advise you to make any complaint within one day of the date of delivery or intended delivery of your purchase. We endeavour to ensure that all our products leave our premises in perfect condition. If you have concerns about the quality of your delivery please ensure you take photographs that you are able to send to us.

Collection and Delivery
Cakes are to be collected from our premises at a prearranged time and date only.
As part of our service, cakes can be delivered and set-up subject to availability; any arrangements for delivery may be subject to change, however prior notice will be given where possible. We also will liaise with your venue to schedule a delivery slot and to check that all arrangements for assembly such as the cake stand and cake table have been taken care of.
Our delivery service will be charged on an hourly basis and is determined by the travel distance and the time and labour required for assembling the cake. Prices are available on request; please contact us for a quotation. 
Baking Indulgence takes every precaution necessary to ensure that the all cakes collected/delivered are in good condition. All cakes collected/delivered are photographed from different angles to show cake quality. 
Baking Indulgence bear no responsibility for loss or damage to the cake or items with the cake (i.e. knives, decorations and stands) once the cake has been collected from our premises or delivered to a venue, or for loss, damage or non-delivery under unavoidable or exceptional circumstances.

Return of Hired Equipment
Deposits are taken for all equipment.   All equipment must be returned within 3 official days of the event date (unless alternative arrangements have been agreed prior to event in writing) or extra charges may be levied to cover hire costs. Any damages to equipment will incur a reduction of deposit returned in order to cover costs of repair or replacement.

Baking Indulgence possesses rights to showcase all cakes created in its profile unless otherwise stated. You may purchase the image copyright from us with a fee.
We reserve the right to use any image of the cakes made by Baking Indulgence for publication at a later date.

Website Changes and Update
In order to keep our website as accurate and as up to date as reasonably possible, it may be necessary, from time to time, to restrict access to the site in order to undertake necessary maintenance work. We will make every effort to ensure that any down time or restricted access is kept to a minimum.

Cancellation Policy
Should you cancel your cake order the confirmation deposit (50%) is non-refundable and any specifically ordered items and work already undertaken in accordance with your order is additionally chargeable. Orders cancelled within 2 weeks of the completion date, the full balance will be charged.  The money paid for the cake cannot be used for a future order.
All cancellations must be submitted in writing by recognized corresponding email. It is the responsibility of the customer to ensure receipt of the cancellation.
In the unlikely event should we need to cancel your order, any deposits paid will be FULLY REFUNDED to you. Possible reasons for us needing to cancel include death, injury, illness (due to health and safety regulations), serious medical condition or an accident.

Agreement to Terms and Conditions
By Proceeding with a purchase you are in agreement with our terms and conditions as stated above. Performance of this agreement is contingent upon the ability of Baking Indulgence to complete the agreement and is subject to labour disputes or strikes, Loadshedding, accidents, Acts of God, and other causes beyond our control.
